Men’s Issues

Men often internalize messages from their environment that they should be self-reliant, emotionally controlled, and maintain strength under pressure. Although these qualities can certainly be advantageous in some situations, many men find it difficult to seek support or talk openly about their emotions and experiences. Consequently, men frequently find it difficult to be vulnerable in relationships, and many have a tendency to suppress their emotions, rather than process them. Psychotherapy can provide a unique space for men to talk openly about their challenges, enhance their capacity for emotional processing and vulnerability, and develop practical strategies to promote change. My services are ideal for men who want to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and navigate the pressures they face in work and in their personal lives.

Men come to therapy for a wide range of concerns. Some of the most common include:

  • Feelings of anger, irritability, or emotional numbness

  • Stress related to work, career, or financial pressures

  • Burnout and/or difficulty maintaining a sustainable work/life balance

  • Relationship conflict and/or difficulty expressing emotions or communicating effectively in relationships

  • Anxiety, depression, and/or trauma-related distress

  • Life transitions (e.g., career change, divorce, becoming a parent, etc.)

  • Questions regarding identity, purpose, or direction in life

Psychotherapy can provide a safe and supportive environment to explore these and other concerns while working toward meaningful solutions. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment or learning more about my services, submit a contact form below.
